Bridgestone Construction has secured a significant £18 million contract for the development of a new care homes project. This deal marks the firm's second major success through the framework, following the Chestergate project in Stockport.
What Happened
Bridgestone will spearhead the development of Park House, a project set to deliver 90 new specialist and affordable homes. The scheme will feature 52 extra care apartments equipped with communal facilities, a central kitchen, and on-site offices, alongside 38 independent living apartments. The project will consist of three four- and five-storey structures, with two being connected by a single-storey communal area. Additional works will include new incoming services, a substation, landscaping, and improvements to an existing pond area, featuring a wheelchair-accessible walkway.
The project is currently in the Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) phase. Bridgestone is collaborating with Anchor, Brewster Bye Architects, Civic, and BWA (Europe) Ltd to advance the design through RIBA Stage 4. Bridgestone's in-house teams are contributing to design coordination, BIM, buildability, value engineering, and program development, ensuring the project meets Anchor's quality, accessibility, energy-efficiency, and building safety standards.
