Miami Airport Plans $1bn Extension
Miami International Airport (MIA) has announced a $1bn expansion of its Concourse D, set to commence in 2027. The project will involve converting the existing Gate D60 area into a three-storey structure with 17 gates, capable of accommodating larger regional and narrow-body aircraft. Each gate will have individual passenger hold rooms and links to the airport’s US Customs and Border Protection facility. The expansion will also feature additional dining and shopping options, as well as an enhanced baggage handling system.
