Create Intelligent BIMs from 2D Drawings in Open BIM DeepHack

What Happened

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an ongoing revolution in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. It is a process to create smart 3D models of buildings and enable better management of a property throughout its whole lifecycle. Nevertheless, the majority of existing buildings do not have a 3D model or BIM due to lack of resources and technical capabilities. Tractebel partners with EIT Digital and Ultrahack in an upcoming hackathon – Open BIM DeepHack to search for innovative solutions that can automatically generate 3D models of buildings from 2D blueprints.

Why It Matters

The Open BIM DeepHack will provide a platform for innovators to network with relevant players and leading minds of the industry, challenge themselves to create innovations, gain new knowledge and learn new tools. The winning ideas are rewarded with €5000.

What's Next

Open BIM DeepHack will happen on 27-29 November, 2020 ONLINE. Interested participants can apply to join on ultrahack.org by 19 November.
