Bringing BIM to the Modern Built Environment: An Interview with Prof. Martin Fischer

We talked with Professor Martin Fischer of Stanford University’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department in the run-up to WDBE . Our discussion covered what drew him to the discipline and the practical challenges of applying BIM in the modern built environment. An essential part of contemporary design, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a valuable collaborative practice when supported by the right suite of tools and workflows. It helps disparate teams work together, model progress on a build, and has been an area of interest for Professor Fischer since the start of his career.
